Europe

For this area we use the up to date OSM (OpenStreetMap) datasets (“©OpenStreetMap contributors” see the Disclaimer/Acknowledgement page). OSM is almost totally built on its contributors work. OSM integrated in its European dataset the topo maps from various country organizations (e.g. Ordenance Survey in UK, Nederland Geographic office detailed topography, etc.):

• Complete Road Network
• Complete Hydrography (all lakes, rivers and water points like springs, fords, dams, etc.)
• Wooded areas
• Hiking Trails network
• Biking Trails network
• Elevation contours 30ft (10mt) step
• Mountain peaks
• etc...

USA

We use the best detailed Topo Maps from USGS (US Geological Survey) and other federal and state organizations, including:

• NHD (National Hydrographic Dataset) to include the most detailed Rivers, Lakes and Water points (Springs, Fords, Dam, etc.).
• NPS (National Parks Service) to include National Parks hiking trails, boundaries, mountains, huts, wildlife refuges, facilities (picnic areas, parking lots, trailheads, campings, etc.).
• NFS (National Forest Service) to include National Forests hiking trails, boundaries, mountains, huts, wildlife refuges, facilities (picnic areas, parking lots, trailheads, campings, etc.).
• local DNR (Department of Natural Resources) to include local parks trails and facilities.
• NASA SRTM (Shuttle Radar Terrain Mission) to generate 30ft (10m) step elevation contours.
• Openstreetmap
• many other local knowledge sources that we continuosly integrate to have the best map.

Canada

We use the best detailed Topo Maps from Natural Resources Canada:

• Complete Road Network
• Complete Hydrography (all lakes, rivers and water points like springs, fords, dams, etc.)
• Wooded areas
• Hiking Trails network
• Biking Trails network
• Elevation contours 30ft (10mt) step
• Mountain peaks
• etc...

New Zealand

We use the best detailed Topo Maps from LINZ:

• Complete Road Network
• Complete Hydrography (all lakes, rivers and water points like springs, fords, dams, etc.)
• Wooded areas
• Hiking Trails network
• Biking Trails network
• Elevation contours 30ft (10mt) step
• Mountain peaks
• etc...

Asia

For the entire Asia we use the up to date OSM (OpenStreetMap) datasets. In this case OSM is very good for Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Korea. China, India and most of the rest are well covered only near large cities so you might experience a lack of detail in remote areas. OSM integrated most of the free topo maps from various country organizations:

• Wooded areas
• Hiking Trails network
• Biking Trails network
• Elevation contours 30ft (10mt) step

South America

For South America we use the up to date OSM (OpenStreetMap) datasets. In this case OSM is good only near large cities so you might experience a lack of detail in remote areas. OSM integrated most of the free topography from various country organizations:

• Wooded areas
• Hiking Trails network
• Biking Trails network
• Elevation contours 30ft (10mt) step
• Mountain peaks
